We took Sullivan to go see Elmo Grows Up at the Erwin Center tonight. I never thought I’d say a Sesame Street big headed character show was fun but it really really was entertaining. Of course more than the entertaining show was watching Sullivan’s reactions to the whole event, the cotton candy and snow cone sellers shouting before the show, the flashing lights and interesting people, and seeing all of the characters that he has just discovered. But what made the evening absolutely priceless in my mind was watching Damon share the experience with Sullivan. Sesame Street was such a big part of his childhood and something that continues to inspire what he does with the Biscuits. The evening I know will be one of many that will stand out in our memories. Now the little guy is trying to fall asleep after all of the excitement…..a good hour after his bedtime. I wonder what his dreams will be like tonight?
